The second most expensive house on “billionaire’s row” in Palm Beach, Fla., this $ 74 million mega-mansion shamelessly pursues a level of extravagance matched only by its proletariat-galling inspiration: the French chateau.
European marble, oak flooring and antique stone encase the 27,355-square-foot home, which includes a 4,000-square-foot master suite, eight bedrooms, a French kitchen (with an office for one of your prouder chefs), an art-amenable foyer and a 3,000-bottle bar.
Offering a gate-entrance vista of jaw-dropping symmetry, the house, so far unoccupied, sits in front of a stately garden and fountain, both begging for the sculpture ensembles of gazillionaires. Its two and a half acres, which formerly comprised an entire street, boasts 250 feet of waterfront and provides enough parking (more than 50 spaces) for bashes of “Great Gatsby” scale.
Jim McCann of The Corcoran Group has the listing.
